Quick And Easy Slice For Those That Love The Flavours Of Chai
Crunchy Chai Slice With Cream Cheese Icing
Slice Ingredients
- 125gm Butter, softened
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp ground all spice
- 2 tsp ground cardamom
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
Icing Ingredients
- 150gm cream cheese, softened
- 1 ½ cup icing sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
SLICE METHOD:
- Pre heat oven to 180oC CircoTherm, other ovens pre heat on fan bake 180oC
- Cream butter sugars until light and fluffy
- In another bowl mix the dry ingredients add to the butter mix with the lemon zest and juice, gently bring all the ingredients together
- Grease and line a 24 cm baking tin
- Bake 20-25 minutes adding medium vario steam
- Cool 2 min before removing from, transfer to a wire rack to completely cool
ICING METHOD:
- Beat the cream cheese until soft and smooth add icing sugar, lemon zest and juice, mix to form a nice smooth icing
- Ice the slice once it has cooled
