The CAB at Civic Quarter is a beautiful renovation of what was the Civic Administration Building (hence, CAB) in the heart of central Auckland.  The iconic Auckland landmark has been sustainably rebuilt to include luxurious residences from one bedroom all the way up to the magnificent Sky Garden Penthouse.

Re-using this building saved 6,150 tonnes of carbon and 98% of the demolition material has been used to build new roads versus ending up in the dump. It’s a huge win-win for the planet.

The final product is also a real winner for luxury inner city living. Each apartment has amazing views over the city with access to beautiful amenities such as a pool, gym, movie and games space. All within a unique position in Auckland’s Art Quarter – the civic heart of the city.

Right from the outset, the brief was to create a real sense of luxury. Hence the generous dimensions and flowing floor plans of all the residences. It also explains the very deliberate choice of high-end appliances throughout – with Bosch and Gaggenau gracing the kitchens.

In the Penthouses, you’ll find the impeccable German design of Gaggenau’s ovens, fridge freezers, dishwashers, coffee machines and wine fridges. And in every other residence, the luxury feel is maintained with the very best Bosch appliances have to offer.

The property developers behind the CAB are Love & Co, a company dedicated to creating iconic residences that enhance their surrounding landscape, as much as the lives of the people within them. That philosophy goes a long way to explaining why Managing Director, John Love, initially chose Bosch and Gaggenau.

“Bosch and Gaggenau were the obvious fit for The CAB development because they epitomise ‘Simple Things Done Well’ a concept that we apply to all of our Developments. Both appliance brands offered ‘everyday luxury’ for our owners while differentiating the penthouse and sub penthouses supplied with Gaggenau from the more accessible residences lower in the building supplied with Bosch.

“Coordinated supply and installation meant that we had a seamless end to end solution that took the worry out of our appliance selection from a construction perspective and also meant that end users had a single point of contact for user support.”

Now that the residences are all complete and the appliances are installed, John says, “As the developer, we are extremely satisfied with the appliances and we have had nothing but great feedback from the owners and tenants alike. The CAB Residences are now multi-award winning  and we believe the appliance selection helped to contribute to this outcome.”

As with any project of this scale, you learn so many things along the way. And John has certainly learnt that if you want kitchen appliances to befit the luxury of your development, the perfect choices are Bosch and Gaggenau.
